we went to kaliko today for becky's birthday. i paid a man to catch and cook me a lobster. rode two hours home in a tap tap (these pick up truck type vehicles with colorful paint) and my stomach does not feel right. but it was so worth it. paul &kate booked the place for their wedding. maybe ill get to enjoy kaliko yet again in the near future?
the girls are already in bed so we didn't see them at all today. except moya. we took her with us. she was just kickin' her legs in the ocean. what a water baby! since we were gone all day today, ill do my first project with the neighborhood kids tomorrow. it should be pretty interesting but mostly fun.
life is so strange. if you would have told me a year ago i would be where i am now, i wouldn't have believed you. but i couldn't ask for a better life than the one I've been given.
mom: i waited to open the card you sent with me at a perfect time. today while i was sitting quietly on the beach seemed like a good opportunity. i also couldn't ask for a better mother. love you and miss you.
Be sure you take pictures. I'd like to see the tap tap.
ReplyDeletethey're everywhere but they drive really crazy so they're hard to get pictures of. there are lanes here but they don't stay in them they just drive where ever theres room. they play loud haitian music and honk the horn constantly. the roads aren't paved and there are HUGE potholes everywhere so it makes for a really bumpy ride. ill see what i can do for ya daddy. miss you, love you!
